Over the last few weeks, shame has held a grip on me. Yes, there’s shame around my enmeshment with my ex-partner, yet even that feels easier to talk about. Really, the deeper shame I’ve been hiding beneath the surface: I’ve felt so embarrassed about my finances.

Shame feels like a separation from love. It’s the trailhead for all the thoughts and feelings around not being “good enough.” As I write this, I sense a small opening of fresh air in my lungs. Shame thrives on secrecy and silence, yet it cannot exist with empathy and sharing (Thank you, Brene Brown!).

After four years of soul-searching and inner work, the increased need to heal my relationship with money seems like a natural expansion. It’s like I’m shaping a healthy ego, which‌ strangely directly supports my spiritual strength.

So I’ve been leaning into my inherent worthiness, knowing that I deserve to give and receive value while valuing myself in that process. Finding loving, feminine, and abundant female role models really inspires me to approach finances from a more embodied place.
